Questions? we have answers.

  • You will have a consultation before we start your treatment to discuss expectations, realistic goals, colour and shapes. A shape is drawn before beginning the process and once you and Namita are happy with the shape. Colour/pigment choice is discussed. Immediately after the treatment, the colour will be intense. this will subside during the healing.

  • This will vary from each individual dependent on your lifestyle and skin type. Generally your PMU will need touch up around 12 months to keep them fresh from your first initial appointment. The fading process is heavily influenced by environmental factors such as sun/UV rays, facial treatments(retinol, AHA) along with your skin type and lifestyle.

  • Primarily the colour will look as if makeup has been applied-dependent which style was chosen will determine darkness/intensity. Slight redness maybe will appear as the skin has been abraded but will all settle over the next few days. Aftercare will be provided on completion of the treatment.

  • No, permanent makeup does not hurt if you are getting it done by a trained professional. In general, permanent makeup uses a smaller needle than tattoo’s because it doesn’t pierce as deep. This allows for less trauma to the skin. What helps the most is the topical anesthesia that is used on the skin to make sure no pain is felt. One of our goals as PMU artists is to make you feel comfortable and pain free throughout the entire service.

  • Yes, of course PMU procedures are safe! But, we do everything under sterile conditions, using only disposable needles and products. There are no long term side effects.

  • Each service is slightly different, but in general you will see redness and sometimes swelling in the areas that the service was performed on. The redness and swelling should be gone the same day. The full healing time of procedures vary but most on fully healed within 2 weeks. After the procedure, make sure to keep the area clean and avoid any physical activity.

  • Yes, a touch-up session is recommended for optimal results. This session is scheduled 5-8 weeks after the initial appointment. It allows the artist to address any areas that may need enhancement or adjustments. It ensures the longevity and perfection.

  • While PMU provide a filled in look, you can still use some makeup for added definition if desired. We recommend not putting any makeup for the first 7 days on the area of procedure.

  • Immediately after the treatment, the tattooed area may appear dark and more saturated. However, it will fade 30-50% lighter , leaving an incredibly soft and natural finish. The colour remains true over time as it heals.

  • The duration of the procedure can vary, but on average it takes 2-3 hours, including consultation and numbing time.

  • After getting permanent makeup, it's generally recommended to avoid swimming or engaging in activities that may expose the treated area to excessive moisture or sweat for a certain period. This is because the pigments need time to settle and the skin needs time to heal properly.

Specific recommendations may vary depending on the type of permanent makeup and the advice given by your technician or artist, but typically, it's advisable to avoid swimming, hot tubs, saunas, and intense physical activities for at least a week or until the initial healing period is complete.

Exposure to moisture, sweat, and chemicals in water can increase the risk of infection and may also affect the color retention of the pigment. It's essential to follow the aftercare instructions provided by your technician to ensure the best results and minimize any potential complications.

  • Taking care of your permanent makeup after the procedure is crucial for ensuring proper healing and long-lasting results. Here are some general aftercare tips:

Keep the area clean: Gently clean the treated area with mild soap and water or a recommended cleansing solution provided by your technician. Avoid rubbing or scrubbing the area, and pat it dry with a clean towel.

Apply ointment: Your technician may provide you with an ointment or healing balm to apply to the treated area. Follow their instructions on how often to apply it and how much to use. This helps keep the skin moisturized and promotes healing.

Avoid touching or picking: It's essential to avoid touching or picking at the treated area to prevent infection and ensure proper healing. Let any scabs or crusts fall off naturally.

Avoid makeup and skincare products: During the initial healing period, avoid applying makeup or skincare products directly on the treated area. This includes moisturizers, creams, and makeup removers.

Protect from sun exposure: Sun exposure can fade the pigment and cause irritation to the treated area. Avoid prolonged sun exposure and use a broad-spectrum sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher if you need to be outdoors. Wearing a hat or using an umbrella can also provide additional protection.

Avoid swimming and intense activities: As mentioned earlier, it's best to avoid swimming, hot tubs, saunas, and intense physical activities that may cause excessive sweating or moisture on the treated area until it has fully healed.

Attend follow-up appointments: Your technician may schedule follow-up appointments to check on your healing progress and perform any necessary touch-ups. Attend these appointments as recommended to ensure the best results.

Be patient: It's normal for the treated area to go through various stages of healing, including swelling, scabbing, and color fading. Be patient and follow your technician's advice to achieve optimal results.
